BISTRO AT GRANDE PROVENCE

The Bistro is a casual yet contemporary eatery, the perfect destination for anyone seeking a top-tier Cape wine farm experience, but with meals served in a more relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.

Having said that, it doesn’t compromise luxury for accessibility, and we found the service exceptional, the tables beautifully decked, and the décor striking the perfect balance between casual and sophisticated.

Our Head Chef Marvin Robyn designed an easy, simplistic menu that caters to all.

Inside the Bistro feels like an extension of the wine estate, beaming with natural light and open space. True to its nature, the ambiance of the Bistro is relaxed and tranquil. The vineyards and garden surround the Bistro, making it ideal for parents with young kids. Children can play on the Jungle Gym in a safe area whilst the adults eat and drink merrily.

The Bistro at Grande Provence Franschhoek is just next door to the garden sculpture, gallery, and outdoor wine tasting area. Children are welcome to play along the open grass area.

With laid-back, unpretentious decor, the food is exactly that. Farm fresh produce and Bistro-style dishes are just what your taste buds are dying for. If you are after wholesome, freshly made gourmet fare, then you will be pleasantly surprised.

Absolutely dreadful experience. The site was overcrowded and the area for having your picnic was close to the children's playground. There was nothing relaxing about this vineyard at all. The food was appalling (and the picnic content was changed from a charcuterie picnic that we specifically ordered to an "Easter" picnic without us being informed of the change in advance). When we expressed our concerns, the Events Manager was most rude and highly sarcastic. Please avoid as there are far better places in Franschhoek to enjoy a wonderful, relaxing picnic with amazing food.

Was the worse picnic basket i ever receive,it was not what you have on your website.. the bread was dry ,we could not eat that, why we got a bowl off noodles ,no idea ..you need to buy your own drinks .is not worth it.you pay 600.00 for 2 people for a basket and own drinks so you could rather sit in a proper restaurant ,we got 2 blankets ,no pillows ,was very disappointed...

We had the picnic basket and it was way too much food. One basket could easily feed 2-3 persons but it was one basket for each person. Ambience was very touristy and a mix of Oktoberfest and villa-chic which I didn't like. But the food was nice and the service superb!

Beautiful venue under the trees, with art pieces all over. The food was excellent and the service was friendly. It is a lovely spot for a family lunch.

Arrived on time but our booked and confirmed table for 10 had been given to someone else. Some of the food eg grilled calamari was cold. Fries and sweet potato not cooked through. Previous vista were much better than this.
