It takes years to build a Legacy. Even Decades. Or sometimes Centuries.

Groot Constantia’s is testimony of how one man’s love for wine established South Africa’s first wine farm in 1685. Our wines are from rich African soil, crafted to perfection. Groot Constantia memories are part of literature and heritage and embodies the timeless endeavour to perfection. Our heritage stands for growth, life and beauty. It is alive and vibrant, like the vineyards we hold dear. It is in our hearts.

We were only there for the wine tasting. The reception was rather cold and unenthusiastic. The service staff, on the other hand, were very friendly. The ambiance in the tasting room has a lot of room for improvement (no water, no snacks). We had much better tastings.

Horrendous service. No professionalism and no attention to detail or customer service. Just a machine of in and out.

Everything was good, just the ladies in the reception were not very friendly (the guide was great). They told us it’s “forbidden” to do two tastings, even though we wanted to try other wines and licores and we saw other people doing it. Also it’s weird that the same wine you can get in their shop in the winery costs double in the restaurant on the winery premises. I understand a bit higher price, but double seems exaggeration.

We did a wine tasting. Joshua was our host. Really enjoyed him as he told us the stories of the wine and the vineyard and also looked at our choices and gave advice on the wines we choice. Thank you
