The food was substantially sub-par. I was very disappointed,The fish mooshy,Gnocci Mushi,Steak full of sinew. Not expected it to be that bad quality.on top of it all,one of our guests was allergic to sulfur and brought her own sulfer free wine. We got charged an R200 corkage fee

Wonderful introduction to South Africa food. Our only regret is that we could not partake in your 5 course menu but we had a late lunch so we had to settle on 2 courses.

My partner and I had a wonderful evening at Grub & Vine. The room is intimate, a bit noisy, and features wonderful jazz on the sound system. The service is very attentive and very professional. The sommelier is especially gifted in his deep knowledge of South African wines. He steered me to two unusual white wines (that one would never see in the US) and recommended an older Syrah which was just terrific. We started our meal with the oysters. This dish is superb and worth the extra money charged for selecting this course. For the next course, my partner had the beet salad which was excellent. I had the ostrich tataki, a strange dish for Americans, but really splendid. For our main courses, I had the lamb and my partner had the duck. Both were very good, but the duck was really memorable. We ended the evening with a selection of South African cheeses which were perfect with the last glass of wine in the carafe. We would recommend Grub & Vine without reservation. In a city filled with fine dining, this lovely, quirky place is a standout.

The food was amazing and experience. The waiter basically scanned us. She charged us a tip of 12
