    Dreadful experience. We arrived to find 2 diners in the middle of a row with the manager of the restaurant. We were asked to wait in the library where we were left for 10 minutes, without even being offered a drink. I went back to the front desk and told a different member of staff we were here and had a reservation - again we were told we must wait in the library. Another 10 minutes went by and had we not paid a deposit we would have left. I went for the 3rd time to the front desk and again told yet another member of staff we had a reservation and wanted to be seated immediately. This seemed to create a lot of irritation but grudgingly we were shown to our table in the almost empty restaurant 20 minutes after we had arrived. A waitress came and announced she would be looking after us, left the menus and we never saw her again for the rest of the evening. After another long wait we managed to attract the attention of a different waitress and she took our order. The starters finally arrived. My salad was Ok my partner had the sardines which were not good. We waited and waited for the main courses and after 45 minutes they arrived without the side dishes. We waited 10 minutes for the side dishes - by which time the main courses were almost cold so we decided to eat them as despite having asked 3 times "where are our starters" there was no sign of them appearing. As we finished our mains the manager arrived with the sides who seemed to think it was hilarious that we had finished our food before the sides arrived. My kingklip was rubbery and swimming in a over powering sauce that resembled tinned tomato soup. My partners steak was tough and tasteless. I can honestly say I have never experienced such a dreadful experience in a restaurant in Cape Town - the service was appalling, the food mediocre, the room cold and lacking atmosphere and the prices steep. We left hungry and furious that our 14th wedding anniversary had turned from a romantic evening into a farce worthy of Faulty Towers. We decided against pudding and instead walked round the corner to the One and Only where we had champagne and pudding at Rooi - where we were greeted by warm and enthusiastic staff, served quickly and efficiently by excellent staff and thankfully their excellent puddings saved our evening. I would avoid Heirloom at all costs - the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in Cape Town.

    We had such an amazing time at the winter brunch at Heirloom Cape Grace Hotel.We enjoyed the variety of foods,restaurants, pool areas, and friendly and kind staff always willing to assist. The brunch exceeded our expectations! We will definitely be back for the summer brunch.

    We recently celebrated my 50th birthday with a lunch at Heirloom at Cape Grace, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, everything was thoughtfully arranged to make the occasion special. We were seated at a table with a beautiful view of Table Mountain and the surrounding area, which set the perfect tone for a relaxed and intimate celebration. The service and hospitality were impeccable—attentive, warm, and professional throughout. Every detail, from the ambiance to the menu, was carefully curated, making us feel welcomed and truly celebrated. Heirloom is an ideal spot for a cozy, private time with family and friends, and I couldn't have asked for a better venue to mark such a milestone. I’m incredibly grateful for the experience and will definitely be back for future celebrations. Highly recommended!
