For the love of food, Hemelhuijs opened its doors in October 2010 . The restaurant is a small oasis in the heart of Cape Town, South Africa and offers an ideal escape from hustle and bustle. Sit and watch the city go by while indulging in freshly made jewel-coloured juices, paradisal cocktails or custom blended coffee and order from the all-day menu.

Heavenly sounds in Hemelhuijs... escaping steam from the espresso machine. Cappuccino foam and cinnamon, heavenly smells, heavenly tastes, steam fresh ciabatta. Crumbs on the table, asparagus on the palate, ginger on the nose, black salt, and green dhania. Red, red wine, ginger, and ripe tomato.

    This was our second Valentine's breakfast at Hemelhuijs, our absolute favourite local 'spoil ourselves'. We had the mieliepap with karoo honey and butter for mains and for dessert the cheesecake with berry coulis and hibiscus tea. The food, service and atmosphere always makes you feel special.

    the food was, as always, delicious beyond words the very friendly staff knowledge of the menu was a pleasure to experience the presentation and detail to everything was also impressive thank you for the beautiful food & restaurant
