For the love of food, Hemelhuijs opened its doors in October 2010 . The restaurant is a small oasis in the heart of Cape Town, South Africa and offers an ideal escape from hustle and bustle. Sit and watch the city go by while indulging in freshly made jewel-coloured juices, paradisal cocktails or custom blended coffee and order from the all-day menu.

Heavenly sounds in Hemelhuijs... escaping steam from the espresso machine. Cappuccino foam and cinnamon, heavenly smells, heavenly tastes, steam fresh ciabatta. Crumbs on the table, asparagus on the palate, ginger on the nose, black salt, and green dhania. Red, red wine, ginger, and ripe tomato.

    Thank you for the most wonderful experience and keeping our special South African culture alive !!! Can highly recommend - we went for a brunch and the all day breakfast options was super !!

    Have been supporting for years but this was not a good experience. The change to the burger is disappointing and the overall portioning and bun vs bread choice does not match what we have come to expect from Hemelhuijs. The pear salad made two of us nauseous. I really love the place and enjoy dining with you but hope a change can come to ensure the food quality and portioning do not continue to decline.
