Imagine savoury treats such as the Classic Cucumber and Coronation chicken sandwiches, followed by an array of sweet delights including Black Forest Opera, Hazelnut Macarons, Lemon Meringue Choux, Hibiscus & Rose Cheesecake – not to forget the traditional Scones with butter, strawberry jam and Chantilly cream.

The high tea includes a fine selection of fragrant teas and coffees – and you may want to add a celebratory glass of bubbly!

Served Saturday and Sunday in the Greenhouse, on the Hohenort Terrace or the Greenhouse Bar, our High Tea is perfect for a wide range of special occasions, from birthdays, hen parties, baby showers and ‘Sip & See’ meet-the-new-baby afternoons, to corporate events.

    Beautiful setting and service was ok. With the food - I was dissapointed that the kids offering was the same thing as for adults. I think kids pallets are not mature enough for the selections. In general, the menu was all about bread. every course was pastry. I would have thought that the 1st course at least could have been different. I mean there's only so much bread one wants to consume. The food in general, half was decent, half not so decent but the menu selection or variety. that was a dissapointing. But we did have a good time as it was our 1st time at the beautiful plot.

    My recent high tea experience at The Cellars-Hohenort was absolutely fantastic and well worth it! From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of serene elegance that set the stage for a truly special afternoon. I would do this again and can't recommend it highly enough. Nestled in the lush Constantia Valley, the hotel's setting is nothing short of breathtaking. We were seated in the conservatory, a beautiful, light-filled space with panoramic views of the immaculate gardens. The ambience is one of relaxed sophistication – perfect for a celebratory treat or a luxurious escape from the everyday. The high tea itself is a masterclass in classic indulgence, presented in multiple servings. The Savoury Selection: Featuring a delightful assortment of delicate finger sandwiches, with classic fillings like cucumber and cream cheese. Each bite was fresh and perfectly balanced, accompanied by wonderfully crafted savoury pastries that were simply delicious. The Scones: A true highlight was the scones. Served warm and fluffy, they were the perfect vehicle for the generous helpings of thick clotted cream and fragrant strawberry jam. They were, without a doubt, some of the best I've had. The Sweet Finale: A vibrant collection of exquisite pastries showcased incredible skill. Each sweet treat was a miniature work of art, from the decadent chocolate éclairs to the light and airy fruit tarts. The tea selection was extensive, offering everything from classic Earl Grey to more exotic herbal infusions, all served piping hot. The service was impeccable throughout – attentive without being intrusive, friendly, and utterly professional. Overall, the High Tea at The Cellars-Hohenort is more than just a meal; it's a complete experience. It's a perfect blend of a stunning location, delectable food, and flawless service.
