We have been regulars at Homespun over the years from when it opened the first time and it has always been five star every time we dined there. There is always something new with presentations and flavours to surprise diners. Last night we had the tasting menu with wine pairing and it was absolutely divine. Service is always of the highest standard.

Awesome experience. Each tasty dish presented beautifully to our senses. The staff from welcome, service, kitchen and bar were most pleasant. Thanks to Skye for her prompt, friendly and on the ball service. Looking forward to the next round in the new venue.

My friends and I visited Homespun by Matt in Cape Town this past Saturday for a long-overdue catch-up, and once again, this fine dining gem delivered an unforgettable evening. Having dined here multiple times, I can confidently say the consistency is remarkable. The tasting menu was, as always, exceptional, with the ostrich canapé stealing the show with its bold flavours and perfect execution. Every dish was beautifully presented, showcasing the creativity and skill of the kitchen. Our waiter, Josh, and the entire staff were outstanding—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. They effortlessly kept our drinks and water topped up while offering spot-on menu recommendations that elevated our experience. The cozy, intimate ambiance, paired with a clean and well-maintained dining space, made it the perfect setting for our evening of laughter and connection. What truly sets Homespun apart is its value. For a fine dining tasting menu, the price is one of the most affordable in Cape Town, offering incredible quality for the cost. With no issues to note and every detail thoughtfully executed, I happily give Homespun by Matt a well-deserved 5/5 stars. If you’re looking for an exceptional dining experience, this is a must-visit!

It is really expensive, and the fact that you cannot take your own wine, and then you over charge for wine is upsetting. It is our 4th time there over the years, and I feel the quality went down. It is the first time that no corkage is allowed. I paid R500 more for the same bottle of wine… A R105 wine cost over R600. I don’t know that you will see us again soon.
