Homespun was thoughtfully designed to transport you away from the stress of the outside world. We offer a unique adaptation of European cooking methods, influenced by Asian, local and worldly flavours.

The Restaurant was built out of the creative mind of Matt Schreuder. After several years of experience in top Michelin star restaurants across the globe, Matt decided to open his dream restaurant in Cape Town: Homespun by Matt.

    Truly one of the best dining experience that I have ever enocuntered. I typically do not like fincy restaurants, would rather go to a really good brew pub, but this was amazing and so glad that we experienced it.

    We always have the most incredible time at Homespun. The staff are exceptional and know exactly how to set the scene for what's to come. And the food... the food is simply unreal. Every mouthful is an adventure, with each course somehow managing to outdo the last. That Boerewors Roll is an absolute masterstroke. We'll see you again soon!

    My wife and I visited for the first time yesterday after seeing the outstanding Google rating, and I can honestly say that the food and overall dining experience lived up to the hype. Every dish was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was warm and inviting with great background music, and the staff were incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, making excellent recommendations and answering every question with confidence. Up until the bill arrived, it had been a flawless evening. Unfortunately, that's where our experience changed. As my wife is pregnant, we didn't order any alcohol. She had just one mocktail, yet our bill included a bottle of wine and two mocktails instead of one. We pointed this out and were told it was a printing mistake. However, when the corrected bill arrived, the wine had been removed but it still showed two mocktails, meaning it had to be corrected a second time. To their credit, the team handled the situation professionally. They apologised sincerely, corrected the bill, and even removed the 12% service charge as a gesture of goodwill, which we genuinely appreciated. Overall, the food, atmosphere and service quality were excellent, and we would certainly consider returning. One piece of advice to future diners: always check your bill carefully before paying. Trust, but verify. Mistakes can happen, but after our experience it's definitely worth taking a minute to make sure everything on the bill is exactly what you ordered as I personally don't believe same mistakes are made twice!

    Had such a lovely evening at Homespun. The food was beautiful and full of flavour, the service was great, and the atmosphere made it feel really special. Definitely a memorable experience and would recommend.
