Homespun was thoughtfully designed to transport you away from the stress of the outside world. We offer a unique adaptation of European cooking methods, influenced by Asian, local and worldly flavours.

The Restaurant was built out of the creative mind of Matt Schreuder. After several years of experience in top Michelin star restaurants across the globe, Matt decided to open his dream restaurant in Cape Town: Homespun by Matt.

    Dining at Homespun was nothing short of exceptional! From start to finish, the experience was a perfect balance of creativity, flavor, and impeccable service. Every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious — you can really taste the passion and artistry that goes into the menu. The atmosphere was warm and intimate, making it the perfect setting for a special evening. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Homespun team for an unforgettable meal. We left feeling spoiled and already can’t wait to come back!

    The food was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Cocktails were delicious. Will definitely be back. One small irritation - 12% service fee on the bill which is shared with all staff. Except, in our opinion, the support staff did not live up to expectation (manager had to clear our table twice for example) and therefore, I feel the client should be given the freedom to choose the

    We took our Mom to Homespun on Saturday 16 08 25 for her 80th birthday celebration which she loved; she has never experienced a fine dining experience before so our choice of restaurant was perfect. She loved everything from the ambience; the food; the cocktail and especially the electric daisy; her face was to die for. I would like to thank Andy our Waitron for making our Mom's night extra special; she was friendly, fun and attentive and made sure that everything was perfect. We had special dietary needs which the Chef accommodated seamlessly. Andy went the extra mile to ensure that the meals we chose fit in with our dietary requirements. I can and do recommend Homespun by Matt to everyone I can; if you want value for money; friendly and efficient service; beautiful food and something different this is definitely the place to choose.
