Our new restaurant "In the Meantime" is located in Woodstock on the corner of Sir Lowry Road and Selwyn Street.

We serve a limited Asian inspired menu, using locally grown and ethically sourced ingredients.

Our menu contains many classic items from our previous spots, and will have new dishes to come, all focused on natural flavours elevated using fermentation.

Unfortunately we cannot accommodate gluten-free diets.

We are located at The Palms Centre, next to the Seattle Coffee Company in the blue building on Sir Lowry Road.

Our direct entrance is near the corner of Sir Lowry Road & Selwyn Street. There is a back entrance behind the building which you can use when you park inside the centre and and arrive at after a short walk.

For deliveries, you can park in front of the shop when there is a space. Otherwise please use the loading bays inside the parking, which is free for 1 hour.

    The food was very delicious and presented in a very nice way too. The service was very good as the guy hosting us was so gentle in explaining the dishes too. The ambience was also very nice suitable for us as a couple.

    A very special meal indeed. An authentic but modern Korean restaurant run entirely by a mother and son team, pouring heart, care and incredible attention into every detail. There’s something deeply personal and refreshing about what they are doing — soulful food, genuine hospitality and flavours that feel both comforting and exciting. In a city full of trends, this feels truly unique and sincere. The kind of place that deserves support, repeat visits and to be shared with friends. Cape Town needs more restaurants like this.

    저희 가족은 여행지마다 한식당에 들러 식사를 하는 전통이 있습니다. 케이프타운에서 우연히 만난 in the meantime은 이제껏 어디서 만난 그 어떤 곳보다 가장 깊은 감동을 남겼습니다. 조각보와 옹기, 식물이 있는 따뜻한 분위기의 식당 내부, 세심하고 다정한 접객, 도자기 그릇과 유기 커트러리부터 정갈한 음식, 특별한 와인 리스트까지 모두 완벽했습니다. 저희는 오이와 해초 샐러드, 김치 만두, 불고기와 제육 볶음, 갈비탕, 채소 피클, 디저트가 포함된 세트 메뉴와 버섯 잡채를 주문했고, 모든 메뉴는 아주 정성스럽게 준비되었습니다. 맛은 말할 것도 없습니다. 특히 초콜릿이 든 붕어빵과 말차 아이스크림, 팥의 조합은 정말 잊지 못할 거예요.     Exceptional food, ambiance, service, and care. I love the calm environment and personal touch in everything that they do. The set menu is a journey with each bite an experience. If I were forced to choose, I would highly recommend the seaweed salad and the fried chicken but honestly each course is a joy.

    oh wow, talk about hidden gem.. this was fine dining at such a reasonable price. Fresh food with delightful textures and tastes in a cosy comfy environment.. I loved that they didn't pipe music, just the gentle ambience of quiet chatter and the enjoyment of the food and textile art on the walls and plants hanging from the ceiling - just delicous everything - oh and we loved the sharing plates and that we didn't have to ponder over the menu for long... and btw was interesting to see all those trendy shops at the Palms Mall now on the way in that were all closed at night but don't let that put you off searching for In the Moment restuarant !

    There is something incredibly special about sitting at Sepial’s table. We recently hosted a lunch at In the Mean Time to celebrate a close friend’s 50th birthday, and it was exactly the kind of soulful, intimate experience we were hoping for. The space itself is compact and minimalist, yet it manages to ooze a genuine warmth that makes you want to settle in and stay a while. The food has an integrity to it, delicate, beautifully balanced dishes that pack punchy, honed flavours. It feels like a quiet, masterful little show where every plate just flows effortlessly to the table. Having her son, Mooru, there to serve and explain the dishes adds such a lovely layer of family warmth to the afternoon. It’s also fantastic to see the new liquor license in action, with a menu of personally chosen bottles that feel just as curated as the food. If you’re looking for a truly unique, storyteller-led experience in Cape Town, this is absolutely it. It’s honest, it’s real, and it’s a beautiful celebration of Sepial’s new venture.
