Experience the beauty and craftsmanship of proudly South African and internationally awarded Three Ships and Bain’s Whisky at the iconic James Sedgwick Distillery, the only commercial whisky distillery in Africa and located in the picturesque country town of Wellington.

We offer three different whisky experiences – all of which includes a refreshing welcome cocktail; an in-depth tour of the distillery and maturation and a tasting of four of our flagship whiskies:

Wellingtoner - Tasting of four local favourite whiskies paired with nibbles.

Best of Both – Tasting of four whiskies, a combination of local favourites and special releases paired with nibbles.

Special Releases - Tasting of four limited edition whiskies paired with nibbles.

    Truly interesting and worthwhile experience. One you need to add to your bucket list. Duane shared his knowledge with much enthusiasm and wit. The tour was just the right balance of information and experience. The tasting was most enjoyable, and the cost of the whisky following the tasting was definitely reasonable, with a 10% discount for all purchases over a certain amount. I would recommend going for the tasting that includes the 13 year old Shiraz Cask Three Ships, as it is value for money. Thank you, Duane and James Sedgwick Distillery!

    We loved the tour and tasting at the distillery! Highly informative, interesting, and downright delicious. Foods "paired" were simple but well thought out for the information learnt during the tasting. As it was a birthday celebration, the host went above and beyond to make the experience unique, a real "once in a lifetime" moment. Duane did an exceptional job in this regard. The premises itself was clean and safe (when following instructions) with a few benches or sitting spots around for post-tasting, to clear the head before driving. All in all, a wonderful experience.
