The House of JC Le Roux is the leading home of sparkling wine in South Africa and offers an exquisite setting to explore the range of crisp, lively and refreshing sparkling and Méthode Cap Classique wines.

The cellar and vineyards nestle on part of the historic farm where French Huguenot, Jean le Roux, planted vines in Stellenbosch after fleeing Normandy in 1704. In 1982 The House of JC Le Roux was established as South Africa’s first dedicated sparkling wine cellar.

    I visited House of JC LaRue today and unfortunately the service was extremely disappointing. We arrived at 3pm and for the first 30 minutes no waiter attended to our table. We eventually had to call one over ourselves just to place an order. After placing the order, there was little to no follow-up or communication. By 4pm, we still had not received our food and no one had explained the delay. Around 3:50pm we were given a complimentary drink, but there was still no proper update. When we asked about our order, a staff member said she would check but never returned with feedback. At 16:10, another waiter informed us that our pizza had been taken and served to another table. After waiting over an hour, this was extremely frustrating. When the pizza finally arrived, it was burnt. I informed the waiter, and his response was simply to mumble “I don’t know,” without offering a solution or apology. That lack of accountability and professionalism was very disappointing. Delays can happen, but the poor communication, lack of urgency, and dismissive responses completely ruined what was meant to be an enjoyable outing. Unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression.

    I was expecting something more enjoyable and satisfying, but it just didn’t deliver. Truly appreciate the great service.
