The Kraal Restaurant at Joostenberg Wine Estate, is a laid back, farm restaurant, serving slow, seasonal lunches and organic Joostenberg wines. Tables are set between fruit and olive trees in the shaded, stone walled courtyard in summer, and inside the cozy, rustic wagenhuis in winter.

Allow some time to enjoy a relaxed, informative tasting of our wines and to stroll through the werf garden and admire the authentic, original Cape Dutch architecture.

Note: Sat 24 January 2026, 18h30. Our annual summer harvest party date is coming up!

Celebrate our beautiful wine region and the 2026 harvest with the Spogwijn group of wine maker friends for a sunset wine tasting and a generous farm supper.

A refreshing change from the fancier, more manicured wine farms, Joostenburg has the rural charm of a real working farm. Due to rain, we dined inside in a wonderful old, quirkily decorated farm building. There is one 3 course menu choice of delicious, hearty fare. All absolutely delicious and plentiful with suggested wine pairings which included a lovely noble late harvest dessert wine. The staff were charming and helpful. We will definitely return and I can highly recommend De Kraal.
