‘kruidjie-roer-my-nie’ luncheon

R1 450 per person, including a three-course menu and wine pairing. Additional wine can be purchased onsite, and non-alcohol beverages will also be available.

Direct translation of the afrikaans saying
‘kruijdjie-roer-my-nie’
to English: ‘a state of not wanting to be bothered”.

These lunch experiences at kruijd speaks about a mindful feast where you are invited to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.

kruijd: from Dutch origin

Meaning “herb” or “spice”

OUR APPROACH ON THE FARM IS INSPIRED BY THE NATURAL AND ORGANIC RESOURCES PROVIDED BY THE LAND AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES

Days at kruijd start early, when the meadows hang in mist and the cool, dawn air fills with birdsong and the chirping of insects. As the sun rises over the aromatic fruit trees of the kruijd farm, we begin to harvest the herbs and spices that will end up in the kruijd kitchen, where morning preparations are already underway.

We invite you to sit down for an unbothered food experience, as we share our mindful meals with you, while sharing conversation over an impossibly soft, high thread-count linen napkin.

Luncheon’s will take place on a Sunday afternoon of each month and commence at 11h30.

Our space is a place where we invite you to submerge in the experience. To allow our guests to have a true kruijd experience, and be respectful of all our guests, we have a child policy of 10 years and older.

As we host a limited number of 32 guests per experience, the full cost is applicable and non-alcoholic beverages will also be made available.

Cancellations made 7 days prior to the lunch date (including weekend days), is non-refundable.

    Kruijd was an ethereal luncheon experience. From the parking area straight to the table, you are well taken care of. The service was top-tier; there is an attentiveness to the how each individual is doing in each moment and a warmness that is carried throughout the day. The food, drinks and herb tea were absolutely amazing. It is evident that each aspect has been meticulously planned; and this comes through in the curated menu, ambience, venue set-up, services and overall experience. Great way to spend a birthday.
