    Hi Debbie Slater (not Slather) - regular patron of La Capannina when visiting from Cape Town. Unfortunately, despite having arrived at 7:00pm, our meals were finally served in relays from 8:45pm onwards, virtually one plate at a time… We were a table of 15 adults and children from Cape Town who always visit La Capannina when we come to George for Equestrian events at George Riding Club. We had one waiter to attend to 15 guests. He tried his best but didn’t manage adequately. The elderly front of house lady didn’t even bother to check on our table at any point. The food, as always, was excellent. The service was well below par. The excuse? ‘We’re very busy tonight’… as would be expected on a Friday night, one would think… Our bill was over R4000.00 and would probably have been double that if we had been served early enough to warrant another few bottles of wine, desserts and after dinner drinks… Sadly, we won’t be retuning to La Capannina any time soon. The food and service we received at The Fat Fish the previous evening was superior in every way to our experience last night at La Capannina…

    We had thee most pleasant experience at La Capannina, warm welcoming from Debby and our waiter Mr Lee, extremely fast food service with amazing quality and standard food. I had their seefood pasta, and can honestely say i havent eaten pasta like this elsewhere in the garden route. Thank you for the warm and cosey evening. Best regards **
