La Parada offers tapas born from Spanish heritage but curated for the South African palate. With an impressive interior, boasting ornate pressed ceilings, a miscellany of chairs and lampshades and and an eclectic selection of Spanish tiles, La Parada specializes in sharing small plates that incorporates a Spanish flair and a great vibe. With many patrons popping in for afternoon drinks and a light bite rather than a sit-down dinner - which is after all the origin of tapas - the drinks list encourages as much experimentation as the menu.

    I would not recommend Laparada Kyalami to anyone. I recently visited(24 August, reservation for 13h00 pm) with a friend from Cape Town who had high expectations based on the excellent service and food she’s experienced at the Cape Town branch. Unfortunately, our experience at the Kyalami location was disappointing. Service: 0/10 The service was poor from the start. Our food arrived cold, and when the waiter came to clear the plates, he didn’t ask if everything was okay or offer a drinks or dessert menu. It felt as though serving us was a favour rather than a job. We had to stand-up to pay our bill since no one was assisting us. Mind you the place was so empty at that time. Our order was initially taken by a lady, but then a gentleman came over to confirm the order again. This gave the impression of a lack of trust among the staff and led to us repeating ourselves unnecessarily. The same gentleman took a long time to open an umbrella for us, even after we had asked two other staff members. Food: 2/10 The food was below average. I’m giving it a 2 only because it arrived. I had no hope that we will get the food, let alone what we've ordered. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and I won’t be recommending this location to anyone.

    Toilets were messy and had no paper toweling to dry hands. Twice no toilet paper. They were not dirty. They were just messy (no one had thrown all the toilet paper that people using to dry hands in the basket away). The gentlemen standing outside making sure everyone was ok was lovely!
