Warm and inviting in winter time, bright and airy in the summer months, La Pineta Restaurant is truly a venue for all seasons. From the terrace or lawn you can enjoy stunning views of Table Mountain and the Cape Winelands, while sipping on a crispy white from our extensive wine list. We cater for the entire family and sport an outside play park for the little ones. Treat your whole family to lunch under the pines or spend an entire evening in the welcoming glow of one of our open log fireplaces.

With our seasonal menus and refreshing blend of adventurous and classic dishes, we pride ourselves on being leaders in culinary trends. Using only the freshest local and international ingredients,we bring a twist to classic favourites and offer a variety of new dishes created exclusively for you to try.

We cater for functions to a maximum of 300 guests in restaurant. Our Private Dining Room can be booked for smaller functions (maximum 50 guests).

    Had a fabulous lunch after a busy Christmas Eve with the family, just wanted to sit back and enjoy Christmas day.

    This review is specifically referring to the 2025 Christmas dinner, I'm going to start off this review with the positive aspects of the experience. Overall the food was relatively good and the effort of decorating was impressive. I also enjoyed the thoughtful touch of the crackers at the table. I also really enjoyed the pre-starter platter, which was very tasty and beautifully done. However, the rest of the experience was rather disappointing which was due to a number of factors. Firstly, the set menu had changed from our original booking. This is not a problem by itself, if only we had received an email warning us of the changes. The change to the menu was disappointing as many of us had been looking forward to it. What was also disappointing was the complete rigidity of the menu where, for example, we were even unable to swap mashed potatoes for any other potato option. This was despite different potato options for other dishes existing on the set menu. I also found that the lamb shank was rather tough and although the sauce was delicious the dish was average overall. Secondly, the experience with the waitering staff was also very disappointing. This may be a broad statement when our experience was limited to one individual but nonetheless diminished our experience. I do understand that it was a very busy day, so I understand waitrons' stress: but that does not excuse poor dish clearing, uncomfortable pouring technique, massive delays with even single drink orders as well as pressuring us regarding when to order our various courses. Thirdly, the experience regarding the atmosphere: the incessant kitchen bell ringing. This was a detractor from our seating inside and near the kitchen. It was loud and irritating. Unfortunately, my family's experience at La Pineta left us feeling underwhelmed and not particularly festive.
