As far as the pizza goes, in the specific Neapolitan style, it's likely the 3rd best in CT. This isn't necessarily a preference thing, it's more just a very direct comparison to other places. I found the base to be too limp and the crust just under-charred. If there was a more nuanced rating system it would likely score a 3.7/5, which isn't really all too bad. As a side note, I did appreciate the fresh pizza I received after taking a few bites and sending it back to be thrown in the oven again, it shows a bit of class. Price points aren’t too relevant here, especially in Cape Town, so no real comments there. And the wine list, although really limited, is still fine. Service was bang average, which in most cases is actually perfect. The ambience... It, to some degree, feels more like a JHB style Rivonia / Rosebank (The Zone) type atmosphere where it’s very loud and showy. There’s nothing subtle and nuanced, which I can completely understand some people enjoy. It’s incredibly loud, both in terms of the music and the general bad acoustics in the restaurant (I understand it’s an older building). The actual choice of music was quite perplexing… Eating a pizza whilst listening to loud very generic house music (like it’s catering to the padel courts outside), was a wild experience. I get it, it’s some peoples cup of tea, but goodness… Note to the owners; if your landline was in a large Constantia house one would be able to hear it ring from the bottom of the garden. Reviews like this are more for the customers really, but you surely have to address this. Trying to have normal conversation and enjoying a pizza regardless of all the above, with a phone ringing incredibly loudly NON-STOP, is utterly bizarre. As Marco Pierre White said, if you’re not enjoying the atmosphere at a restaurant, you wont enjoy the food. So maybe this just isn’t a place for people who prefer a more traditional style pizza / pasta restaurant with a bit more of a toned down atmosphere.

Hi James, thank you for the feedback. My husband and I aspire to create a space where everyone can enjoy a good vibe and excellent food. I’m sorry to hear the pizza wasn’t as good as you would have liked. In terms of the acoustics, as you say it’s tricky one which we have tried to address. The phone and music is definitely something I will address as this shouldn’t be the case. Again, thank you for your feedback and we do hope you will come again. Thanks, Tammy
