A range of starters, salads and side dishes, casseroles, Durban curries, breyani, tandoori oven specialities and a carvery with all the trimmings are included in the buffet selection. Choose your favourite at the carvery from roast leg of Karoo lamb with mint sauce, roasted farm fresh chicken with cranberry sauce as well as tender roast beef with horseradish. The dessert buffet offers a selection of gateaux, tartlets, mousses and sweets - the perfect finish to a sumptuous feast at Lingela Restaurant.

    From start to finish almost every item was truly a horrid experience. The live station fish was cold and overcooked, the calamari was just cooked but cold, the prawns were cold, old and had cold water in its head. The prawns were also not cleaned properly so there were still veins in them. This is a live station ! Why was the food cold??? The peri peri sauce was more sweet tomato than peri peri. The starter section had a version of a prawn cocktail that had hard overcooked prawns and an odd tasting sauce. The cold mussels were also hard and not properly cleaned and tasted old. The prawn bisque, was anything but a bisque, with a dishwater look, consistency and tasted of nothing. Again the prawns were hard and insipid. The creamy mussel pot had mussels that were not cleaned, as in they had long beards. They were also hard and tasted old. The carvery section was a joke. Hard, over cooked and dry chicken. Nothing else. The seafood boil did not have much flavor. The steamed crabs were watery, and hard and difficult to crack. The sauce was lacking in flavor. The prawn and chicken biryani was dry with hard pieces of chicken and crab. Overall the food lacked flavor, freshness and anything to make it appealing in any way. The waiting staff and barman were friendly and polite. The strawberry cocktail bar made a delicious gin cocktail. The live music was beautiful. I would not recommend this buffet to anyone. It used to hold the highest standards in Durban and was the best but it has obviously let go of those standards in every way.

    Desserts are below average, I didn't like enjoy that at all and for price I would expect better taste. Surely you already know that but what's being done ?

    Everything was amazing, I can't stop thinking about the food a big shout out to chef Mkhize Khabazela, who made sure the prawns were on point and to our waiter Meshack oh such an amazing soul thank you for making my anniversary memorable. Will be visiting soon
