“Marble is a celebration of quintessential South African fare. It embodies South Africans love of cooking with fire, a quality that makes our food culture different from the rest of the world” David Higgs.

Situated in Keyes Art Mile, the growing art and food hub of Rosebank, Marble Restaurant boasts a grand wood-fired grill imported from Grill Works in Michigan as the focal point of the restaurant. The concept combines the open-fire trend, seen internationally, with an added pinch of true South African flair.
We have long been fascinated by what makes South African cuisine unique, and we believe its down to being meat and flame enthusiasts. It is the timeworn ritual of cooking on wood fires and gathering with friends, the shared experience in the preparation. However, it is not just meat which we celebrate in this way, we boast an array of fresh ingredients all cooked on our perfectly prepared coals including fish, poultry, vegetables and breads.

We would just like to extend a sincere thank you to the Marble Hospitality Group and the entire team for such an incredible experience! A special mention to Em, Nolwazi, and of course our waiter last night at Marble and Akimo for his attentive service and warm communication throughout. The service, food, and overall experience were truly exceptional — honestly a solid 10/10. Having had the opportunity to experience all three branches, we can confidently say that the consistency, quality, and attention to detail across the group is remarkable. It’s been an absolute pleasure engaging with your brand, and we look forward to visiting again. Thank you as well for the thoughtful voucher — it was greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Chané & Chad Moraites

Our experience at Marble was unfortunately disappointing, especially considering its reputation as a premium steakhouse. We initially ordered a beef fillet, but what was served did not resemble a proper fillet at all. The cut was undefined, long-fibred, and quite tough. When we raised this with the staff, no one was able to provide a clear explanation as to how such a mistake could occur. For a restaurant of this caliber, this is simply not acceptable. The side dishes did not improve the experience. The fries were soggy and heavily saturated with oil, to the point that we had to send them back. We then opted for the sea bass as an alternative main course. While the fish itself was acceptable, the accompanying potatoes were again overly greasy and appeared to be soaked in fryer oil. This level of preparation does not align with expectations of quality or balanced cuisine. Service was another weak point. Staff seemed inattentive and not adequately trained for a fine dining environment, lacking the level of awareness and professionalism one would expect. To their credit, the restaurant handled the situation fairly and did not charge us for the main course, which we appreciated. However, overall the experience fell far short of expectations, and unfortunately, we would not consider returning. Given Marble’s strong reputation, this was particularly disappointing.
