    This was shocking. I am not sure if I am more disappointed in Dineplan or the restaurant. Dineplan has it rated as 4.6 with effusive reviews. The food was extremely mediocre, service quite bad and ambience terrible. Ambience: it was a Saturday night in peak season and there was a Salsa class going on in the restaurant, which meant that the restaurant wasn’t playing any music and all the patrons had to endure being in the middle of a Salsa class, with intermittent pieces of Salsa being played by the instructor in between the long instructions. All the patrons who were not part of the dance class looked very irritated, especially a long table trying to celebrate a birthday. I first ordered a Mezcal Margarita priced at R170 which was really disappointing. I regret following that with ordering a Paloma. Instead of a fresh grapefruit juice based tequila cocktail that it’s meant to be, I received another Margarita but with a wedge of grapefruit stuck in it. I refused to drink this and sent it back, despite the waiter insisting that there was grapefruit juice in it. After tasting it later, he confirmed it had no grapefruit juice, but it took quite a bit of argument to get to that point. All the dishes were small, mediocre and overpriced for the quality of the establishment and food served. In my 30 years of living here in Cape Town and eating out in very diverse eateries, I can’t recall ever feeling ripped off like this. I am more disappointed in Dineplan, as the credibility of its ratings can’t seem to be trusted.

    Food, drinks and service is amazing. It was a windy night so the deck was not the best spot to be on. A better venue or location will elevate the experience but we will be back as food and drinks made up for it in spades!

    We went for the Friday fiesta special. R75 for a flavourful taco was a great deal. The drinks however were way to heavily salted, almost unpalatable.
