Mike’s Kitchen Parktown was opened in 1982 at Eikenlaan” Oaklane” which was built in 1905 during the height of Parktown being the business hub of Johannesburg. It quickly became a busy landmark restaurant and overcame all the changes that occurred with the Mikes Kitchen Group during the 80s and 90s.

In June 1999, Manuel and Henrique Pita bought Mike’s Kitchen in Parktown and set out to establish it once again as a landmark restaurant venue in South Africa.

Over the years, the restaurant has evolved and became Mikes Heritage House, a wholly independent restaurant that celebrates life with a menu offering old steak house favourites as well as current contemporary dishes like our famous duck spring rolls. We cater for private and corporate celebrations, specializing in large functions, aiming to deliver vintage, professional and personable levels of service to all tables small and large.

    Great food vised this place a year ago for my first date and this was my second time after a with my partner.

    I was one of those patrons that did not check the weather when I booked for fathers day last week, and booked outside. Ever fearful of the nasty weather, and unable to change the reservation to sit inside caused a bit of anxiety, being fully booked. However upon arriving we were ushered to a cozy warm spot inside. Our experience was amazing, the food, service and atmosphere was superb. Well done Mikes, you made my fathers day really special and unforgettable.

    Started with unfriendly phone call to threaten that if we didn't arrive by a certain time, our table will be given away. Warmly greeted by staff on arrival. Tables packed so tightly it was difficult to move. Chips for one order unfortunately never arrived. We reminded staff 2 times during the meal but still never arrived. Eventually given as a takeaway. Gratuity automatically added to bill - disappointing given the bad service experienced. Food (calamari / steak) was well prepared with generous portion sizes.

    The person serving us had a negative attitude to some of our group members. However, the management was very supportive and friendly.
