We visited Mila last week on a cold and rainy day. The staff and fireplace made us feel warm and welcome. The chicken alfredo pasta was delicious! Special shout-out to Lucrecia, our waitress. She made good recommendations and arranged for a wine-tasting at the restaurant which was really good. We will definitely go back!

The dessert menu was limited to cake. A dissapointment for me personally.

We booked one of the tent camps at Doolhof in mid-May for a weekend which were unfortunately cancelled by them due to the heavy rains. We did however want to view the place and to pay a visit to their restaurant called Mila. We made a reservation for 10H00 on Sunday (21/06/26) We miss the turnoff to Doolhof but still manage to arrive at 10H08. Being our first time at Doolhof we were taken aback about the beauty and tranquillity of the place and look forward to our breakfast. When we arrived, we noted that the outside “stoep” only had one family of three occupying one table. The remaining tables were vacant and only some tables had side plates, cutlery and glasses on while the rest were empty. We announce ourselves inside the restaurant which also only had one table occupied and 2 couples standing around, not sure if they were waited to be seated or were settling their bill. We booked for outside so the waiter told us to pick any table and proceed to provided us with breakfast menu’s, I noted that the menu stated that breakfast is serviced until 11H30 To our surprise the waiter informed us that we need to place our order before 10H15. We decided to have coffee and a croissant. Another waiter then called on us to informed us that breakfast is over and she will need to ask the chef if it would at all be possible to server us. When I told her that it conflicting as to what her colleague told us she again was very adamant that breakfast time is over as it is Father’s Day. We could not understand as to why we were not informed when we made our reservation (on-line) that Mila was unable to accommodate us. At this time, we decided that the hostility from the waiters is unacceptable making us feel so unwelcome at Mila that we will rather leave. While we were putting on our motorbike gear one rather friendly waiter approaches us to apologise and to offer us a free breakfast. We of course decline the offer.

What a lovely experience. Doolhof is stunning. But we were blown away by the service. Amazing team who genuinely cares for the guests. 100% recommend.
