They were not ready for afternoon for us. We waited a long time before the food arrived. The masala chai was not masala chai but English luke warm tea. For R395 per.person this was excessive for the sub par food.

We had the spice dosa or masala dosa. It was delicious. Starters were the pokora platter and a burratta salad. Also delicious. Had the chai and that was certainly authentic and did not disappoint. Waiters were friendly but not intrusive.

Beautiful hotel. From the start - booking -it was not smooth; no one had information about the high tea. Eventually I got a call back, at least that happened. The food was really not good, not even average. The cakes are terrible. Selection also very simple and unimaginative. Tastes like cheap box cakes made with margarine or used oil. The savoury eats were lovely but cold. I was expecting cakes/eats presented in bird cages as described on the website, none of such. Also not enough cutlery(cake forks) actually no cake forks were avaliable, only a set of knife and forks. Everything very rough, no sophistication nor fine detail to perfection. A bit of a disappointment I would say.
