    We went here to celebrate an anniversary. We had a lovely time. The waitress in our section was such great help with full of information and recommendations. We are planning on visiting again.

    The experience at Modern Tailors was average - not sure what all the hype is about. The service was dismal - super slow. I felt like we were forgotten and had to signal the waitress a few times to get attention. It almost felt like we were bothering her. And the worst that mid-dinner, the manager brought over two chairs to our table without saying a word. He was clearing off another table , and saw fit to shove chairs into our table while we were eating - surely it could have waited until after our meal. The food was average , although generous. The goat curry was excellent. The lamb chops were disappointing - and the mint sauce was NOT anything mint related. The madras prawn curry was not good at all . It was a five prawns (fresh and well cooked) , chucked into some tomato-based chutney. The tomato was not cooked through and hence still tasted very acidic. Not a good dish at all. I ordered the Bollywood rice as an accompaniment - the menu indicated a host of ingredients like dried mango, nite etc. There was no dried mango , not even a shard of it. Literally 6 nuts and about 20kg of dried onions ( that’s what it felt like) - also not a great dish. We also ordered the lamb sausage chutney as a starter . My guess is that it’s the same tomato base - only with fried lamb sausage instead of the prawns. We also had the pani puri - really lovely and authentic. Enjoyed that thoroughly. I ordered the rose and pomegranate cocktail - yet another disappointment. It was warm and the sparkling wine that was used , had long lost its sparkles. While not having lived up to the accolades that precede it, the experience at Modern Tailors was average yet entirely not unpleasant. Not sure I would rush to have another Modern Tailor experience in a hurry.
