    Had a beautiful day, it truly felt out of this world. The day shift staff who welcomed us were absolutely amazing, and we really enjoyed our time there. However, after the shift change, we experienced a bit of discomfort with one of the night shift managers. We had informed the waiter that we would step out briefly to view the hotel as we were avoiding traffic, and then return to our table for drinks before leaving. While we were still outside, I noticed the manager questioning the waiter about us in what felt like a dismissive and somewhat disrespectful manner. I found that interaction quite undermining, especially after such a wonderful experience earlier in the day.

    The Saxon is a wonderful venue for high tea, with excellent and friendly service and beautiful presentation. I would prefer more savoury options as I don’t have a very sweet tooth. The Mount Nelson in Cape Town is better value.
