Some of the best ideas are born in moments that don’t feel big at the time — and that’s exactly how Mud & Muse started. It was during a rugby game at Ellis Park, surrounded by the roar of the crowd, that two friends started dreaming out loud. We pictured a place where anyone could walk in, feel at home, and let their creativity spill out in whatever shape or colour it wanted to take. That small spark grew, piece by piece, until it became this — a space where art, coffee, and community come together in the most beautiful mess.

    I recently celebrated my birthday with a group of friends and Family at Mud & Muse, and I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better venue! For several of my guests, it was their first time visiting, and every single one of them was incredibly impressed. The atmosphere is so beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing it creates the perfect setting to enjoy great food and even better company. The food was absolutely amazing! Every meal was fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. What impressed us the most were the generous portion sizes. We all had to take leftovers home because there was simply too much to finish, which made the value for money exceptional. The service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome throughout the celebration. My guests couldn’t stop talking about how much they loved the restaurant, and several have already said they’ll definitely be back and would happily host future functions there. Thank you, Mud & Muse, for helping make my birthday so special. We had an unforgettable time, and I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant to anyone looking for amazing food, excellent service, and a warm, relaxing atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!
