Muratie is as old as history itself, lying at the foot of the Simonsberg with a view of Table Mountain, guarded over by ancient oak trees you will find this old 'ruin' a treasure to be enjoyed. The old fermentation tanks in the cellar with their tartaric encrusted walls, old carpets, wooden furniture and original art is where you will enjoy honest home food, good wine and great company.

NB: Muratie Wine Estate restaurant is only open from Wednesday to Sunday however our wine tasting is open Monday to Tuesday.

    The waiter was excellent. The reason I only gave a three for the service is that there was no one to greet us on arrival at the restaurant. We had to wait a long time to get someone to help us and show us where to sit. The notice clearly said wait to be seated. But no one available in the whole restaurant. That was the only fault I can find. Everything else was excellent. Many thanks.

    Ate inside the cellar, which has great authentic old atmosphere. Service attentive and excellent, and foo was high quality and tasty. Highly recommend.

    We (4 of us) really loved the whole experience of the lunch. Venue is great. the food was great Just one point. There was too much bread bread. Maybe substitute some of the bread with crackers. We had 2 platters and almost half of the cheese was sent back because of the amount of bread. It was one of the nicest platters i have been served.

    Our U3A group had a wonderful outing to Muratie. Where we had a delicious lunch and a very interesting talk and walk around . Special thanks to Yaasiem and Mahadi for your exceptional service. Also thanks to the kitchen staff, my cauliflower steak was yummy.
