    Great for cocktails, wines, and snacks. Main food not great too much going on. Terrible smoking room which does not isolate smoke enough.

    I was a little frustrated being forced into a 17h30 reservation (next option was 20h30), when the restaurant only started filling at 19h30. Otherwise, outstanding service, ambiance and food, we love 9 lives

    Great service and ambience. The small plates we had were great, the mains not so much. Menu could also do with a little bit more variety. The in house bread is to die for!!!

    We attended the "Friends with Benefits evening". Atmosphere was amazing, and 5/8 courses were truly exceptional. Sadly the service was hindered by a bar over-extended on their cocktails on a busy night, and the kitchen...a massive delay in getring out the pork (over-salted) and chicken (not as described). The dessert yoghurt component just didnt work. For R950 the portions were very generous (too generous for a tasting menu perhaps), but then came the service charge & drinks bill, so it was approx R1.8kpp in the end...
