Along with formal training in Europe, Chef Nicolene Barrow worked at the world-famous Le Gavroche Restaurant in London before setting up Orangerie at Le Lude. Here classical French cuisine is presented with a contemporary twist; the purist, disciplined approach of the European masters combined with a hint of individual, modern creativity where what is on the plate is presented looking as good as it tastes.

A seasonal menu offers the finest, freshest ingredients found in the forests, meadows, mountains and seas of the Cape, resulting in a selection of dishes offered in an environment conducive to making permanent Franschhoek memories.

Had such an amazing experience at Le Lude! The atmosphere was beautiful, the food and drinks were incredible, and the service made it even more special. A special shoutout to Kim, our waitress, who was absolutely wonderful, friendly, attentive, and so welcoming throughout the entire experience. She truly made us feel taken care of. Highly recommend Le Lude for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience

Incredibly high standard of food, the duck pate was world class. The Cape Salmon was juicy and gently cooked. The best French fries I have had in my life. The bread service is also exceptional. Our waiter was faultless.

I couldn’t see a sign saying which toilet was for men and women. I would suggest you put a sign on the door. One loo had pee on the floor not nice for a woman to go into. Otherwise I couldn’t fault a thing and will be returning as soon as possible
