Pappas is an award winning, family owned restaurant located on the Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton. We believe in fresh, quality produce and innovative, well-presented dishes. While we still offer a wide-variety of traditional Greek dishes, our Mediterranean menu has evolved with the history of the restaurant spanning over three decades.

Pappas boasts a 100 seater private dining room for events overlooking the iconic Nelson Mandela statue. The restaurant is also available to be hired out for private and corporate functions with a capacity of up to 215pax. Burning of whiskey, breaking of plates: Traditional Greek entertainment is available upon request.

    What a terrible experience with our waitress today, 24 April 2026. Our waitress’s name was STHANDIWE. On arrival we asked for a plate of one light meal to share between my husband and I. Because we were very hungry and wanted to eat something, while waiting for our mains. She then told us that she would not encourage that, because we were going to get full, before eating our mains. When we ordered our mains (both of us ordered Lamb Shank) we asked if it came with roast potatoes, or if we should order Roast potatoes separately. She gave a very confusing answer, we ended up ordering roast potatoes as sides. When both plates arrived, they had Lamb Shank and Roast Potatoes + extra sides of Roast Potatoes. When we highlighted to her, that she should have told us that Lamb Shank already comes Roast Potatoes, so we could choose a different side, she just looked at us. When it was time to order dessert, I ordered Ice Cream, she told me to take a walk downstairs and go get Ice Cream downstairs myself, so I could decide on the flavour. It was such a weird experience, even the ladies at the ice cream shop downstairs, were extremely shocked that I am dining inside the restaurant, but came to get ice cream myself. They even told me that I shouldn’t have been asked to come get ice cream myself. They asked me for the name of my Waitress. At that point, I realised that she did not even introduce herself by name , when we arrived. That is when I decided to look for her name on the Invoice when we were paying. The food was 10/10. But STHANDIWE is not a good person. And she definitely doesn’t represent the restaurant’s values at all. When we come back, I will remember to highlight that, she can never serve us, ever again!

    Great resturant, the way they assisted with the Halaal food was exceptional. Thank you for the great service and delicious food.
