    Extremely disappointing anniversary experience After an extensive search for the right restaurant for our wedding anniversary, we decided on Peppertree. We were genuinely excited and made our booking telephonically, receiving the Dineplan WhatsApp confirmation. Unfortunately, the evening did not live up to our expectations. On arrival, we were asked to park at the back of the establishment and enter through the back entrance, which immediately felt rather unwelcoming. The food was equally disappointing. Our ribeye, which cost R330, arrived cold and was poorly presented. The mains overall were underwhelming and certainly not what we expected for the prices being charged. We had also mentioned that it was our wedding anniversary, hoping for a little acknowledgement of the occasion, but unfortunately there was none. Even the R87 Irish coffee we ordered to finish the evening was bitter and disappointing. We really wanted to love Peppertree and chose it specifically because we wanted somewhere special for our anniversary. Sadly, the overall experience—from the arrival to the food and service—left us feeling very disappointed. The setting has potential, but for the prices, we expected considerably more. Unfortunately, this is not an experience we would choose to repeat.

We understand that choosing a restaurant for such a special occasion comes with certain expectations, and we regret that we did not deliver the memorable evening you deserved. Being welcomed through the back entrance, receiving a cold ribeye, and being disappointed with the presentation and overall quality of the meal are certainly not the standards we strive for. We are equally sorry that your anniversary was not acknowledged, particularly as you had made us aware of the occasion. Your comments regarding the Irish coffee and the value of the overall experience are also noted. We take this feedback seriously and will be addressing these points with our team. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. We are truly sorry that what should have been a special anniversary celebration became a disappointing experience, and we hope we can have the opportunity to restore your confidence in Peppertree.
