Established in 1990 Pirates Steakhouse has been one of Plumstead’s top dining destination for more than three decades winning a number of awards for excellence.

This family-owned business continues to offer local residents good quality, value for money meals, with an in-house Dining Club offering discounts to regulars; signing up is both free and easy.

In addition to the great food and friendly service they have some of Cape Towns top musicians performing in the restaurant nightly.

The separate pub area alongside the restaurant caters for both sport lovers and party goers with big screen TV’s and a dee jay every night till 4am. The kitchen is open around the clock with the main menu on offer till 2am, pizzas till 5am and pub burgers, toasted sandwiches and chips available 24/7.

    All round a good experience with good food, service and thanks for the opportunity to provide feedback. It was just a little uncomfortable with the extreme heat when we arrived but was quickly considered when an enquiry was made about that and addressed.

    We had a great time at Pirates again. Just one thing I was not impressed with was is that I called Pirates to confirm booking On the Thursday. They assured me tha everythig is sorted. Then when one of my friends went to pirates, they said the table is not ready. This was an hour before my booking. I called them and asked them whats happening. They informed me they cant have all tables together. It will have to be seperate tables. I insisted they make the table a big table as this was what was confirmed. This also happened for the last table I had on the 04th July. I hope when I book again I dont need to call Pirates all the time to get what was booked for. Other then that we had a fun time, just booking services can be improved.

    Hi Antonia - the confusion lies in the fact that we do not essentially move the tables around in that function room. We also have dancing in the restaurant with the live music so when dance floor is requested under the booking it leads to confusion. I myself allocated your table inside the restaurant. I do get that the fact that they assisted you with your needs the previous time set a different precedent to the norm and you would then naturally expect it again especially if you book in advance. I personally had to fetch tables from another venue to assist on Saturday. I am glad however that you messaged as I can now clear up the misunderstandings going forward. Firstly we welcome bookings in that area which we refer to as the function room. We do not however move tables around, you simply book more than one table if you are a larger party. Further to this I must point out that that area is a non smoking area. I am not sure who it was that gave you permission to smoke the first time and again set some sort of precedent for your return visit and I therefore allowed it as it was. But going forward I must stress that it is non smoking area. We look forward to seeing you again.

    The lighting should be a bit better. I understand the need for a intimate and romantic atmosphere, but I could hardly see what was on my plate

    Pirates never disappoints. The food is always amazing. We celebrated my husband's birthday with friends & family.

    We had a bacon & feta pizza. The bacon was tasteless. We put on Habanara sauce that made up for the taste. The Chips was divine as always. The Steak was on point along with the veggies & rice. The Ribs were absolutely divine. But we will definitely go back.
