    We went there for my son's birthday we received a warm welcome from the manager table was reserved for my family n i the waiter came to oh she was very friendly she keep checking on us making sure we were fine. I had my 2 brothers from KZN new in George but they say everything was very excellent we had pizza n drinks the ice on the cake the evening met with the chefs that prepared the me just to say thank you for the lovely food we had. We also had time to catch up as family Portobello is the place to be environmentally friendly

    Beautiful stacked and presented pizzas. Best pizzas we had for awhile.

    Excellent pork chops and accompaniments. Duck fat roasties. Very generous lamb ragu, packed with flavour. Well priced wines. Super staff.

    Amazing Italian food. Pasta is as good or better than what you can get in Rome. By the way, I am Italian from Rome and my father was a producer of fresh pasta in the centre of Rome supplying even the famous Alfredo restaurant from which generate the name "Fettuccine Alfredo" well known all over the world. So, I have extensive knowledge concerning the quality of a plate of pasta . From my point of view, Armando (Chef) at Portobello Restaurant, is one of the best chef that I came across in 45 years in South Africa.
