Protégé is an exciting casual fine dining eatery under the guidance of previous Eat Out Chef of the Year, La Colombe’s Scot Kirton.

Scot is proud to be part of the process of recognising young talented chefs and giving them the opportunity to put themselves on the map. In keeping with this, the restaurant was aptly named Protégé.

The idea with Protégé is to keep it casual and comfortable, working with local suppliers to keep the menu as fresh and as seasonal as possible.

The restaurant space has been designed around the central show kitchen with al fresco dining planned at both ends of the restaurant.

Protégé is open for lunch from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm and for dinner from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm.

    It was a quiet night so missing a little atmosphere. My choice of duck for the main was not ideal, it just felt a little oily for my palette. Think that was down to my own poor choice. The wine pairing was excellent and went very well with each course. The surprise at the end was a first for me and left a lasting memory. Thanks to the team for looking after me and all being so pleasant.

    Very special place. Food was amazing - perfectly balanced flavours. Setting was perfect for us - unpretentious but ambient. Small plates were a great well priced option for us for an early dinner.

    All a little too pretentious for my taste. The food itself wasn’t bad, but it didn’t quite live up to the expectations—or the cost. The overall experience felt overly polished and self-important, without delivering enough in terms of food options, service, or atmosphere to justify the cost.
