    We had lunch at Klein Goederust as part of the Franschhoek Wine Tram experience, and it was absolutely outstanding. The spit braai was exceptional — generous, full of flavour, and exactly the kind of authentic, relaxed meal you hope for in the winelands. Every single person in our group loved it. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the atmosphere. It’s unpretentious, welcoming, and beautifully set — the kind of place where you can truly unwind and enjoy yourself. A very special mention to the owner, who came around to personally greet and thank guests. That personal touch is rare and made us feel genuinely appreciated — it elevated the whole experience. This was one of the highlights of our day in Franschhoek and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed, memorable lunch. We will definitely be back.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our visit ... the lamb spit braai was wonderful and the ambiance amazing. I highly recommend a stop at this winery.
