    I have followed Parreirinha from their days in Rosettenville. We used to make it an outing to for an evening out, because you always knew what you were going to get. Amazing ambiance, incredible, fresh Portuguese food and stories to tell. It's such a pity that the area where they were situated became so bad as Parreirinha Rosettenville was an institution. We were of course thrilled that they moved to Melrose Arch as it's a hop, skip and a jump for us and at least you're safe! They brought with their incredible collection of ties, the most delicious food and warm hospitality. We love going for a casual meal with them. You can also book their cellar for a private dining experience. If I can critique one thing - if Parreirinha is going to survive, they'll have to change their table decor. They are situated amongst other restaurants that have spent some money to keep up with the times, and of course you are in the Northern suburbs of Johannesburg where diners are used to a different level of dining. I come from the restaurant industry, and my honest opinion is that it looks old, dated and tacky. Not what one would expect from Melrose Arch. Will this keep us away from eating here, of course not. Because their food is incredible - you can only eat prawn rissoles for the night and you'll be as happy as you'll ever be. A change in their MCC offering would also be nice as there are better quality out there than what's currently on the menu. Would be great to see Le Lude or Colmant on their menu! All in all, delicious seafood and definitely one of our regular places to dine out.
