Reverie Social Table is proudly South African table d'hôte style eatery located in the quirky neighborhood of Observatory, Cape Town with a focus on social dining.

Each evening, chef patron Julia Hattingh welcomes guests to sit around her bespoke 18-seater table to enjoy a five-course meal exclusively created for them, and accompanied by carefully selected wines.

Guests are encouraged to put away their cell phones and engage with one another. Perfect for those who love food, wine and great company.

Chef Julia's contemporary style is strongly influenced by the chefs that have mentored her throughout her career, respect for the food she works with, her vast travels and her home town of Cape Town with its myriad of cultures and culinary heritage.

    This was a highlight of our dining experiences in Cape Town. So much more interesting than the ‘fine dining’ places that everyone talks about! Julia is a fantastic host, and we loved the relationship with the winery, the provenance of the food, and the great flavors. The ambience of strangers sitting down together was delightful. We were glad that Luke the dog made an appearance! Highly recommend.

    What an amazing experience! the food, wine, and ambiance were wonderful. We came with a big group, but I can imagine how this would be great for meeting new people in other circumstances. I would definitely do this again next time I come to Cape Town.

    Reverie was one of the highlights of our five weeks in Cape Town. Julia created a most inviting space, with the entire evening choreographed perfectly. We enjoyed incredible food, interesting wine, and made new friends from across the globe. Highly recommend!

    We are a travel agency and have bought a total of 48 guests to Reverie social table and each time, every guest says the same thing “this is the most incredible dining experience they have ever had been to” Julia and her team have created something very special and it is not to be missed! The food is some of the best we have ever had, the wine is always delicious and the service is unmatched!! If you in Cape Town, do yourself a favour and make this the first restaurant you go to!
