Reverie Social Table is proudly South African table d'hôte style eatery located in the quirky neighborhood of Observatory, Cape Town with a focus on social dining.

Each evening, chef patron Julia Hattingh welcomes guests to sit around her bespoke 18-seater table to enjoy a five-course meal exclusively created for them, and accompanied by carefully selected wines.

Guests are encouraged to put away their cell phones and engage with one another. Perfect for those who love food, wine and great company.

Chef Julia's contemporary style is strongly influenced by the chefs that have mentored her throughout her career, respect for the food she works with, her vast travels and her home town of Cape Town with its myriad of cultures and culinary heritage.

    We had a thoroughly pleasant evening! The restaurant was warm and full of ambience, an absolute gem in the Observatory area. Julia Hattingh was a fabulous host, and her team were friendly, helpful and attended to our every need. We really had a great time socializing with the other guests, with delicious food and generous pourings of wine to pair with each course. Thank you so much - would definitely recommend this!

    Once again Chef an amazing night with amazing food, wine and new friends from around the planet! The only downside was getting to see “Luke”! I “hesitate” to tell folks that Reverie is a can’t miss due to risk of it being full when we get back to our annual visit to Capetown!

    Always 10/10. I have had the pleasure of dining at Reverie Social Table a couple of times over the last couple of years. I can comfortably say that Julia's food-and-wine pairing is an unrivalled taste and gastronomic experience, only surpassed by her inimitable way of bringing people together. I have met fun, fascinating, and all-round lovely folk around the Reverie Table. Julia and the Reveries team serve up the pinnacle of warmth and hospitality, while encouraging a let-your-hair-down atmosphere. Beyond the food, wine and fun, I have made many an international friend and know that every time I leave Reverie I do so belly and heart full.

    Our group of family and friends enjoyed a fabulous evening at Reverie Social Table. From delicious food and excellent wine pairings with great conversation. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this experience to anyone (over 18 years of course) if you are in Cape Town

    It was an absolutely lovely evening! Julia is professional and friendly! She has a great gift for pairing her food with wine! Every course is top quality!!! The experience is something I am yet to experience ast any other restaurant! Absolutly recommend!

    We came all the way from New Zealand to dine at Reverie and we were not disappointed. Julia, and her team created a degustations style menu, pairing locally sourced produce with local wines the whole experience was further enhanced by sharing the experience with other like minded guests. We can’t recommend Reverie highly enough.
