Reverie Social Table is proudly South African table d'hôte style eatery located in the quirky neighborhood of Observatory, Cape Town with a focus on social dining.

Each evening, chef patron Julia Hattingh welcomes guests to sit around her bespoke 18-seater table to enjoy a five-course meal exclusively created for them, and accompanied by carefully selected wines.

Guests are encouraged to put away their cell phones and engage with one another. Perfect for those who love food, wine and great company.

Chef Julia's contemporary style is strongly influenced by the chefs that have mentored her throughout her career, respect for the food she works with, her vast travels and her home town of Cape Town with its myriad of cultures and culinary heritage.

    We are a travel agency and have bought a total of 48 guests to Reverie social table and each time, every guest says the same thing “this is the most incredible dining experience they have ever had been to” Julia and her team have created something very special and it is not to be missed! The food is some of the best we have ever had, the wine is always delicious and the service is unmatched!! If you in Cape Town, do yourself a favour and make this the first restaurant you go to!

    What an extraordinary evening of unmatched atmosphere, celebration of culture, and natural comradery! Chef Julia is a master of ambience and curating a meal that highlights ingredients and wine in ways we've never experienced before, delighting and surprising her guests as they transform from strangers to friends.     This is a really wonderful option for solo travellers - but try to book in advance. The evening is a total experience and friendly and welcoming from the start. The five course menu and matching locally produced wine is great value and made for a fully engaging evening. Great for foodies and wine buffs. Highly recommend.

    Our group had a fantastic time at Reverie. Julia was a wonderful host and the food was impeccable. I would go back just for the homemade bread, let alone everything else. Overall a warm and social experience, and a great getaway from the stressors of the week.
