Coastlands Umhlanga, Saffron Restaurant is renowned for the their infamous weekend Seafood Buffets. Our Buffet offers a selection of diverse dishes including a live station with prawns, calamari, fish and lamb chops. A perfect place for family gatherings, casual dinners or a special celebration. Every Friday and Saturday night from 18h00 - 22h00. Price: R475.00 for adults and R235.00 for kids.

    The food was not up to standard. The variety or layout was absolutely limited/restricted, not value for money at all. On the menu, it stated a live steak station, which was not available to us on the day. Multiple staff members had gotten ill from consuming the meals. A portion of the money should be reimbursed to us. We will not be returning to Coastlands or Saffron again. When seated and you look up, the amount of dust and dirt on the ceiling and the aircon was surprising. We are totally un-impressed and disappointed with everything.

    The lamb curry had too much salt, and the fish and chicken fry done by the chefs live had too much spice. Unfortunately, this was unsatisfactory, and we had to waste food. This is the second week we have experienced this.

    Unfortunately the food was a miss for us this time, the prawns, chops and calamari was overtly salty and the other items weren't up to standard compared to our previous visits. We can commend the atmosphere and waiting service as they were amazing.

    Overall it was a decent experience. Lucia, our waitress, was lovely and made the evening better. I do feel the butter chicken was not to its best standard from what I remember from previous visits. The dessert looked good and seemed to have a wide selection, however, most of it did not taste good. The chocolate pudding was disappointing, again compared to previous visits. It will take me a while to go back again and I might only look forward to the grilled chops, the starters and the lamb curry. Thanks for the good service to Lucia.
