    Can not begin to describe our disappointment. Exclusive venue, where we wanted to come stay soon. But the dinner experience has left a bad taste (literally) in our mouths. After ringing for entering, there was no one at the gate to greet us and when we took the 'wrong' path, we were admonished by someone who at least spotted us. Service was terribly slow. Drinks (even water) would take forever to come out. We arrived at 17:30 and the desert was served after 9pm! And that was not our doing. We think, sarcastically, the restaurant supplier had a special on gorgonzola - because it was everywhere to be found. Bluntly, everyone around the table said in unison during one bite I took - "wow, we've NEVER seen you spit out food". And I haven't, until this dinner. The prawns were so hot (temperature not flavour), that our guest could not touch it by the time the rest of the table had finished our meals. And not way to clean hands after handling prawns? Weird. The idea of the pani puri sounded fantastic - but again ruined by this overwhelming taste. The deserts were below average - a small, dry malva and promised ice cream never arrived with the creme brûlée. However, unfortunately, the koeksister was served with the creme brûlée - just a dry platted piece of fried batter. When booking I was asked whether this was for a special occasion, which it was. Sala failed to check in with me on that topic on the evening and everything was in such disarray I didn't even mention it.

    We had a great time at Sala Beach House. Such a beautiful spot, especially having lunch with the ocean breeze. The food was delicious, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back!
