    The first time I went to The San was in December 2025 with my son. I don’t know if the experience was different because it was a Sunday. My latest experience from Friday, 3 July didn’t match my expectations. I had asked to be sat by the fireplace and while it wasn’t directly in front of it - they eventually moved us, but the side of the fireplace closest to my side wasn’t working. For the starters - I asked for a soup to share - they brought it on one plate and it was cold. For the main course - I had the lamb shank which was ok - would have preferred it hot. My friend had the lamb curry and it was flavourful but not as hot as it should have been. At some point I had to ask one of the other waiters to find our server. When I asked for the bill - she typed in the wrong amount - R20k more than what our bill was - so the attention to detail was lacking. All was not lost though - they gave me an ice bucket to keep the flowers I got for my friend and also brought dessert with her name written on it and it was on the house. I wanted to share a dining experience I had enjoyed with my friend, but it didn’t live up to my expectations or the surroundings which are gorgeous!

    Thank you so much for awesome hospitality, i give Nthabiseng our waiter 10/10 and the lady who was welcoming us from the door even the manager who came and check us if we are still ok, and the rest of staff were friendly restaurant top notch 👌 we will definitely come back 🙏

    The food was horrible but the service from the staff awesome , I’ve ordered a baby hake my partner ordered a lamb shank it was chewy, the seasoning horrible, ay ngeke they couldn’t even prepare a proper baby king klip, underwhelming
