    I miss some of the old favourites- tempura zucchini (the battered one tastes like baking powder), feta & dates, the grilled sea bass. The chocolate almond cake is to die for and the ceasar salad was amazing! Always enjoy dining at Scape.

    This was my fourth time visiting Vrymansfontein (the tasting and Scape), I was surprising my girlfriend for her graduation lunch. The past 3 visits were 10/10, from the food, to service, I always rave about Scape! This time was a particularly opposite experience. Firstly, the service, despite it not being full, was slow and more informal than the usual professionalism and warmth. I was excited for this season's menu change, but our fish of the day and pork neck were cold, tough and bland. My beloved potatoes were not cooked all the way through and were also cold. This was a first for me, especially because I was previously a massive fan of the pork belly and duck. Additionally, I had kindly requested prior for a special plate for my girlfriend's graduation celebration, but to my dismay, this was not accommodated and left me having to awkwardly request in front of her when I ordered dessert. Also, upon dessert recommendations, I informed our waitress of a specific flavour profile I am not fond of, yet she insisted for us to order her recommendation. As expected, we did not enjoy it. I would absolutely love to return as I adore the farm and the restaurant, I hope it was an isolated event and the experience really dampened our festivites.
