Jurgen Schneider: 'After 50 years of cooking I feel I came to the point to know exactly what I want to bring to the peoples palate and to the table.

All the styles we as chefs got through, in all kitchens around the world (traditionelle cooking, nouvelle cuisine, molecular style, farm to table, local is lekker, and last but not least Nature Kitchen) and the influence of each style I was thinking about my personal style a lot.

Since 40 years I am a mad forager and food from nature is for me the most inspiring topic. Here at the Western Cape in the heart of the Floral Kingdom the varieties of plants which are growing right in front of our doorstep are amazing.

Dinner from Wednesday until Saturday, choose between:

    Hi have to say that the restaurant did not live up to the hype. The food was not fantastic - it was fussy and beautifully displayed but the flavours were not incredible and for the cost, I was expecting more fine dining

    What a lovely lunch and very personal service. All six courses were delicious but the mushroom gnocchi and the apricot dessert were outstanding. Thank you for having us. We’ll be back!

    The food the presentation the staff were really excellent. We visited Schneider's the second time, the previous place was a little bit more stylish. However, we did not regret to come back. And we will come back again.

    The menu although somewhat restricted provided a 6 course meal with well presented food of excellent quality. A yardstick we use is ‘could we replicate these dishes in our own kitchen’ - unfortunately, we could not. That is what was so great about eating here! Imaginative dishes with foraged type ingredients for example, purslane and elderberry flowers. Many aspects of the dish preparation was fairly technical and beyond the skill of most chefs. We would definitely recommend the entire experience.

    Not our first time but at this location! It was wonderful to be back and to be able to profit from such a diverse and delightful menu. Looking forward of coming back in the not so distant future.
