Jurgen Schneider: 'After 50 years of cooking I feel I came to the point to know exactly what I want to bring to the peoples palate and to the table.

All the styles we as chefs got through, in all kitchens around the world (traditionelle cooking, nouvelle cuisine, molecular style, farm to table, local is lekker, and last but not least Nature Kitchen) and the influence of each style I was thinking about my personal style a lot.

Since 40 years I am a mad forager and food from nature is for me the most inspiring topic. Here at the Western Cape in the heart of the Floral Kingdom the varieties of plants which are growing right in front of our doorstep are amazing.

Dune Spinach, Wild Sage, Cancer-bush, Buchu, Geranium, Confetti Bush, Sea Weed, Bitter Bush…and lots more…

Dinner from Wednesday until Saturday, choose between:

    Great surprise finding a restaurant on this high level in this scenic seaside village. The food was delicious and a real gourmet experience. Congrats to Mr Schneider and his whole team.

    We went to this lovely Restaurant for Sunday lunch as a couple while on a three night stay in the suburb of Gansbaai western Cape, South Africa. It was recommended by the host at our Guesthouse. One had the choice of a four, five or six course menu. We opted for the four course. The greetings from the chef were excellent. We had two starters, a main and thereafter cheese. Our aperitif was a nice glass of sparkling wine from one of the vine yards in the region. Excellent service staff who were multilingual. The menu we chose was lovely and the dishes were delicious and well presented. We loved the use of fresh herbs and ingredients in the dishes. Thank you To Schneider’s Floral Restaurant for making our stay in Gansbaai memorable. We will definitely come again

    We had a wonderful evening. A warm welcome, attentive service, delicious food, and excellent wines. Every course of the menu was a delight. And to our pleasant surprise, the price was significantly lower than what we had previously been quoted at our bed and breakfast. This made our enjoyment all the greater. Excellent value for money.
