    We celebrated my mom’s 80th birthday at the Silver Orange Bistro and everything was perfect. Delicious food, attentive and professional staff, and seamless service made our family celebration truly memorable.     The food was amazing. Although the service was good the waiting times between courses was long… we waited over an hour for the starter to arrive and another hour for the main course. Besides that we had a lovely experience.

    We were very disappointed with the service we received at Orange Bistro, especially as regular patrons who often choose this restaurant for special occasions. Upon arrival, we were given the wine menu but waited over 10 minutes for the food menu. As we understand the kitchen closes in the afternoon, this delay made the experience feel rushed and unnecessarily stressful from the start. We were asked to place our starter and main orders together and order desserts later, which we were happy to do. The starters were good overall. The oysters were small, but we appreciated being given three instead of two. The snails were fresh, though the sauce could be more refined to match the uniqueness of the menu. The sushi was absolutely delicious and a definite highlight. For mains, we ordered the seafood dish and the oxtail. Our usual waiter, David, who is always attentive and knowledgeable, checked in. I mentioned I needed a moment to assess the dish and then realised the issue — the food was not hot enough, and I would have preferred more gravy. Unfortunately, this is where things went wrong. Other waiters assisted as David was unavailable, but the dish returned cold even after requesting extra gravy. I agreed to it being reheated in the microwave, yet it still came back not properly hot, and I had to ask again. This disrupted the entire dining experience. I also suggested that dishes with gravy should be served in a small pot to retain heat and improve presentation, as plating everything together makes it less appealing — and we do eat with our eyes. To add to the disappointment, we were told the chef had left and desserts were no longer available, despite earlier being told we could order them later. A waitress eventually assisted, but the desserts were not up to standard as they usually are. This was especially upsetting as we were celebrating our anniversary at a place we’ve trusted for consistently excellent food and service.
