    Beautiful setting and great food, but disappointing wine service We enjoyed a lovely afternoon at Spier. We ordered two picnic baskets, which were delicious and very generous—honestly, it was a bit too much food for just two people! We also shared a great bottle of wine. However, we were disappointed by the wine service at the picnic site. It is a pity that you cannot order just a single glass of wine to enjoy. Even more surprising: when we finished our bottle and wanted more, we were only offered wine in cans. Being at a world-class wine estate and being expected to drink from a can—rather than using the glasses we already had—was not the high-quality experience I expected. It felt a bit out of place for such a beautiful setting. Pros: Great food portions, beautiful grounds. Cons: Inflexible wine options (cans only at the picnic area).
