Award-winning wine paired with innovative food is what youll find at our tasting room on the banks of the Spier dam. Relax in the airy lounge area, and enjoy stunning views of the Helderberg mountains, or take your glass outside onto the sunny patio and gaze across the rolling lawns.

For wine tasting, settle in at the parquet tables and admire the iconic Heath Nash chandelier — made from 334 recycled Spier wine bottles and weighing 370kgs — which hangs above the tasting counter.

You can either enjoy a set wine tasting (see the list below), with or without a food pairing, or order whatever you like with an olive, cheese or cured meat board.

Tastings include:

Spier Tasting (R40 pp): Choose three wines from our Signature range and one from each of the two premium wine ranges, 21 Gables and Creative Block.

Chocolate and wine tasting (R70 pp): Inspired by our Spier Signature Methode Cap Classique and our Spier Creative Block blends, the chocolatier has carefully crafted chocolates that complement and unlock nuanced flavours in each of our liquid treasures.

Frans K Smit Tasting (R90 pp): The two premium wine ranges plus Spiers flagship wine, Frans K Smit.

Childrens Grape Juice Tasting (R40 pp): This tasting is the ideal way to keep the youngsters busy with a fun lucky packet and a tasting of three different grape juices and an educational activity sheet highlighting the role insects play in our vineyards.

Seasonal Spring Tasting (R95 pp): This special tasting includes summer inspired food and wine pairings, and is available from the Spier Tasting Room for R95 per person, until 15 November.

Food platters to pair with the tastings are also be available for sale. For groups of eight or more, a reservation is required. Larger groups can be accommodated in the tasting room at the Cow House. Please ensure that bookings are made and confirmed at least 48 hours in advance.

    The place was beautiful and the staff friendly and knowledgeable. After the wine tasting took an opportunity to walk around and it was breathtakingly peaceful and serene. Loved the vibe of the restaurant and peace of the outside.

    Very beautiful venue, was joined by my girlfriend, was a really fun and also amazing day out for the both of us. From what I noticed, kid friendly for those wondering parents, plenty space and area to walk around and explore including grass patches that you can sit and enjoy picnics on. Wine and Food was also good, highly recommend to cross off the list if you are in the Stellenbosch area and wanting to do wine tasting.

    Such a beautiful place with lovely staff! We enjoyed our visit. Red wines seem to taste better than white - if you are doing the tasting, try for red or the ones with red. Segway tour was a hit for kids - the guide was fun and engaging, the kids got to see a lot of the farm. Highly recommend.

    Absolutely amazing, the wine was even more impressive than what was anticipated, and so was the food and the chocolates which is currently being enjoyed as part of breakfast today. We will be back...

    What a lovely experience! Bongi was an amazing guide to the 21 Gables special winter experience. We were amazed at how delicious the food was, and how lovely the Spier Wine Tasting staff are. They even offered me a glass of bubbly while I waited for the rest of my reservation party to arrive. The views were gorgeous as we were seated outside. We had a wonderful experience at Spier and I cannot wait to bring even more people to come experience how wonderful Spier is!
