I tasted the Alto Rouge 2022 which is a complex and elegant wine that showcases the best of South African winemaking. With its rich flavours and smooth tannins, it's an excellent choice for special occasions or everyday enjoyment. Base on its wine profile , it is deep garnet with a cerise, crimson rim in colour; succulent plum, crushed blackberry, dry fig, pine-needle, and graphite on the smell; plush and beguiling tannins, muscular and firm structure, life-affirming freshness on the palate; with a long and dry finish. This wine boasts intricate flavors of plum, blackberry, and fig, complemented by subtle notes of pine-needle and graphite. The tannins are well-balanced, providing a smooth and refreshing finish. And the food I paired with the Alto Rouge was sumptuous.
