Opened in late 2015 at Nelson Mandela Square in the heart of Sandton, Johannesburg The Big Mouth is a dining experience that you could easily find in a major city like New York, LA or London yet is still uniquely South African. Our menu varies from the freshest grilled seafood to gourmet burgers to a selection of world class sushi. The heart of the kitchen is our unique, world renowned Josper grill. This charcoal oven gives our hot dishes an authentic, robust chargrilled or “braai’d” flavour.

    We had a lovely dinner at The Bigmouth Sushi & Grill on Thursday evening. While it is certainly on the pricier side, the quality of the food more than justified the cost. The standout dish of the evening was undoubtedly the short rib-style beef ribs served with parmesan mash. The beef was incredibly tender, rich, and full of flavour, while the parmesan mash was creamy, indulgent, and the perfect accompaniment. It was easily the highlight of the meal. The atmosphere was stylish and vibrant, making it a great choice for a special night out. Service was decent, attentive enough to ensure an enjoyable experience without being overbearing. Overall, a memorable dining experience, and one I would happily recommend for those looking to enjoy excellent food in an elegant setting.
