We opened in 1998 and we have been the busiest restaurant in Camps bay since opening. We take pride in our work and provide the best Seafood quality. Customer satisfaction is very important to us.

We do not advertise. We believe that the best advertising is word of mouth of happy guests and this is what has kept us full and busy for the last 17 years! A good name and great reputation cannot be bought. It has been earned through consistency over time.

We have no menus. Our warm and highly trained waitrons instead guide you through our extensive array of delicious and incredible selection of fresh seafood and help you to select an individual plate or platter for the table. They will explain as to the different tastes and textures of the seafood and how the food is prepared and served and show you the cost of your selection.

TJ was our server and she was the absolute BEST!!! It was our last night in Cape Town and spending it at Codfather was the only way to go! Great service, amazing food, and incredible atmosphere!

I’ve been visiting The Codfather for many decades and always try and fit a visit into my holiday! Yet again, it delivered! We had booked in the Wine Cellar and immediately realised it was not the right kind of vibe for our group and the wonderful manageress very swiftly did everything she could to get us a table upstairs, which was just perfect. The food was sublime as always - simple and delicious, well presented and perfectly prepared. The sommelier and our waiter were charming and we had a fun and faultless evening. Huge congratulations to the team for keeping this a destination restaurant in Cape Town!

The place feels a little run down. I like the concept, but the execution needs some refinement (warmer plates, replacement of used cutlery prior to main meal, use of tablecloths, etc)

Good dinner. I just felt that we were getting rushed to finish our early dinner. Also your toilets are very average.
