We opened in 1998 and we have been the busiest restaurant in Camps bay since opening. We take pride in our work and provide the best Seafood quality. Customer satisfaction is very important to us.

We do not advertise. We believe that the best advertising is word of mouth of happy guests and this is what has kept us full and busy for the last 17 years! A good name and great reputation cannot be bought. It has been earned through consistency over time.

We have no menus. Our warm and highly trained waitrons instead guide you through our extensive array of delicious and incredible selection of fresh seafood and help you to select an individual plate or platter for the table. They will explain as to the different tastes and textures of the seafood and how the food is prepared and served and show you the cost of your selection.

    We were really looking forward to dining at Codfather in Camps Bay after reading so many outstanding reviews. From the moment we arrived, we received a warm welcome from the staff, and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately, our experience changed once we were seated. It became quite noticeable that some tables, particularly international tourists, especially American visitors—received a far more engaging level of service. Their waiters spent time chatting, joking, and regularly checking on them, while our table was largely overlooked. We often found ourselves waiting for assistance, and surprisingly, the cleaning staff checked on us more frequently than our actual waiter. A special mention to the cleaning team, who were friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel noticed. They were the highlight of the service we received. As for the food, the fish was exceptionally fresh, which we appreciated. However, the rest of the meal was average and, in our opinion, didn’t justify the premium prices. As locals, it was disappointing to feel that we weren’t treated with the same level of attention and hospitality as other guests. Every customer should receive the same standard of service, regardless of where they come from. Sadly, because of this experience, we won’t be returning.

    Exceptional food and service. Loved how we told the team what we liked and they produced a menu and wine selection to suit our needs. Brilliant experience.

    If I could give this place 10 stars I would! The staff is so warm and friendly, not to mention helpful! The food was fresh and outstanding. We are only sad we dont have another night here because we would go back again!! We tasted fish that we have never even heard of before and each one was better than the one before. Best Tiger Shrimp I have ever had.
