We opened in 1998 and we have been the busiest restaurant in Camps bay since opening. We take pride in our work and provide the best Seafood quality. Customer satisfaction is very important to us.

We do not advertise. We believe that the best advertising is word of mouth of happy guests and this is what has kept us full and busy for the last 17 years! A good name and great reputation cannot be bought. It has been earned through consistency over time.

We have no menus. Our warm and highly trained waitrons instead guide you through our extensive array of delicious and incredible selection of fresh seafood and help you to select an individual plate or platter for the table. They will explain as to the different tastes and textures of the seafood and how the food is prepared and served and show you the cost of your selection.

    We were treated to a Fantastic dinning experience . We were talked through the display of fish and seafood and helped in choosing what we wanted. One of the best meals I’ve ever had and fantastic friendly , attentive staff , thankyou

    Wow! Wow! What a wonderful experience it was to dine at this superb restaurant. The ambience, the personal service, everything is top notch, if you’re ever in Cape Town do yourself a favour and visit this place. We had the sushi to start, best sushi I have ever tasted and I loved that you picked what you wanted from the sushi bar. We chose our fish and seafood with advice from the knowledgeable waiter, we were told how much our fish would cost before the cooked it for us. We dined in the wine cellar and was so pleased as it was quieter than the main restaurant and very authentic. We had a wine waiter pair our wine with our food, the whole experience was fantastic. We would strongly recommend you visit this place without a doubt.

    The place was packed. We were seated in a very unpleasant corner of the wine cellar. You can tell how the restaurant tries to optimise every square centimetre. We were neglected for the first 20min by the waiters. Eventually we were taken to the market display to select the fish. Although this set up is great, it was ridiculously busy at the display. The food itself was amazing. Try to avoid rush hour when visiting the restaurant.

    As locals, we have been visiting the Codefather for about eight years now, and we have always had an excellent meal. With its popularity and high turnover, the fish is guaranteed to be fresh, and the chef cooks it to perfection. Honestly, we have never had a bad meal there.

    We had been looking forward to eating at The Codfather and it even managed to surpass our expectations. Mimi and Courage gave us exemplary service. Worth the journey from the U.K.

    We had a fabulous time celebrating my birthday at the Codfather. We had oysters, calamari and sushi amongst our group as starters. I loved choosing the fish from the fresh counter, such an experience. We weren’t rushed at all and spent 2 1/2 hours enjoying the ambience. The staff bought me out a cake and sang happy birthday to me and we had springboks to celebrate. A really fantastic meal out.

    We love the Codfather. Only slight niggle is that our waiter last night missed that we did not want any spice on our prawns and fish.
