A modern architectural master piece in stone, steel and glass designed with retractable floor to ceiling glass doors on three sides, that literally lets the outside in. The restaurant is famous for the great breakfast fare, long lazy lunches, afternoon nibbles, and a fabulous wine list with a handpicked selection from the best South African boutique wine estates or a sumptuous dinner at the end of the day.     Our lunch was a one big disappointment. Food was shockingly bad - there were four of us, and each of us expressed the same opinion on the meal. The service was lack-lustre. The only thing that redeemed the outing is the beautiful setting. Really hard for even a bad meal to diminish this.

    The food was exquisite and ther staff friendly. Just 2 negative vibes: 1. The waitress (Minnie?) that ended up processing payment asked me to pay the tip in cash so that she didn’t have to share. We only had R100 (still generous) but it would have been R136. The other point is that we got charged R106.00 for a single glass of house white wine. Surely that’s excessive??
