The Deli Social is a warm, community-driven deli, bakery, and pantry nestled in the heart of Hout Bay. We celebrate local flavours, seasonal produce, and South Africa’s artisanal food culture through curated grazing boards, handcrafted sandwiches, and small-batch baked goods fresh from our micro-bakery.     Great attention from the staff and host. Lovely food; however, more options for dinner would be nice. Lovely atmosphere. Will be back for sure!

    We booked a table for the courtyard sessions as advertised. We arrived at 3pm for our booking for 4 people. Table was not set or ready for us. Ordered drinks and some bread with dips to share. Bread and dips were yummy but needed more bread as there was a lot of dip. Finished our drinks and no waiter came for another order or to clear empty glasses and bottles. Staff seemed very untrained and not interested. There was no vibe or ambience for the courtyard sessions.

    What a pleasure to eventually have a deli in Hout Bay that is worth returning to. The menu is well thought through. The food is beautifully presently and delicious, each dish being unique in taste. Good value for small plates that are adequate to share with 3-4 people when ordering a few. (think we ordered 6 between 4) And the basque cheesecake is unlike any to be found elsewhere! The service is attentive, informed and willing to make suggestions. And for an evening meal, the lighting was good, the music pleasant and at the appropriate level> We will be back, Soon.

    What a beautiful evening. The key to the dining experience is to sequence two or three starter dishes into the mains. That way the taste sequence and overall dining experience magnifies greatly.
