    I have mixed feelings about my dining experience. I booked in the upstairs area but we were shown to a table pushed under the awning as you enter the courtyard. I suppose should have questioned it but since it was my first time eating here we just went with the flow. The rain was so hard we kept getting wet. Not sure why we were bumped outside having booked an inside table. Hmm.... Old patron given preference when his table outside was washed out? Secondly, I didn't really expect that both the starter and the main I ordered would be served as a soup. I guess it was in the fine print but when ordering short rib and medium grilled lamb rump, I guess I expected something chargrilled and crispy. The food was very rich. The corn was disappointing. Not charred and covered in fine biltong powder (maybe?). Inedible. Puddings were good. Braai broodjies were excellent. Those who had simple grilled steaks really enjoyed them and cuts offered off the menu looked superb. Waiter Thabang was a credit to your restaurant. Overall a disappointing experience though.

    Very professional staff. I did wander why there were no female waiters on duty. I have scored the ambience 3 because there was no back ground music and we were at a table which had a pole between me and my partner. Otherwise a great experience and the waiter and his shadow/runner in training, was great.

    Finalizamos nossa viagem à África do Sul com chave de ouro com um jantar no The Fat Butcher! Escolhemos o CÔTE DE BŒUF dry aged e estava sensacional. O ponto perfeito. Carne saborosa. Amamos! Os vinhos também era ótimos. O brownie de sobremesa muito gostoso. O atendimento foi excelente. Recomendo! Necessário fazer reserva.
